Keona Holley – Baltimore Police Officer Shot

Keona Holley died of gunshot wounds on 23 December 2021.

While working an overtime shift, someone shot her in the head on 16 December in Curtis Bay. As a result, she was on life support at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, but she couldn’t make it.

On Thursday evening, Keona’s family decided to remove her from life support in consultation with doctors. Shortly after that, they pronounced her dead.

The Baltimore Police Department arrested two men as the possible shooters and another killing of 38-year-old Justin Johnson in Yale Heights. The second incident happened an hour and a half after Holley’s shooting in Southwest Baltimore.

Police used camera footage in the vicinity and license plate readers to track down one of the suspects, 31-year-old Elliott M. Knox. Allegedly, he admitted his presence on the crime scene and even told the location of the weapons used.

Reportedly, 32-year-old Travon Shaw was behind both shootings. It seems Johnson owed money to him. However, the officers discovered the usage of two different firearms, and the Curtis Bay video showed both men approaching the area where the policewoman got shot. Investigators have recovered two guns.

According to court records, Shaw was free on recognizance as he awaited a trial following a March 2020 arrest for possessing a firearm. The other defendant has a history of being convicted for three armed robberies in 2006 and a 15 years imprisonment sentence.

Many people gathered at Holley’s viewing to remember the Mom From the West Side on 9 January 2022 at Wylie Funeral Home. It continued the next day at N. Mount St. funeral home. Her wake and funeral service is from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Baltimore Convention Center. Likewise, the burial ceremony will happen at King Memorial Park, 8710 Dogwood Road in Windsor Mill.
